TDATA
TDATA is the folder in which the Telegram Desktop app keeps a signed-in session. A TDATA listing is delivered as that folder, for use with Telegram Desktop on a computer. If you only use the regular Telegram apps, TDATA is the format made for you.
Session + JSON
A .session file is the session storage used by Telegram client libraries, and the .json file next to it holds the app and device settings of that session. This format is meant for software built on Telegram's API rather than for the regular apps.
